About
Us
Since its inception in September of 2011, the student musicians of the East View Patriot Band have dedicated themselves to setting the standards of excellence and class for those that follow. In their first year as a full high school, the band enjoyed many successes including taking Best Of Class 3A, Best Music 3A and Best Percussion 3A in both the Vista Ridge and Westlake Marching Festivals. At the 2012 UIL Marching Competition, the EVPB scored a rating of 1. The EVPB drum line competed at the Dripping Springs Drum Line Competition and placed 1st in the 3A Non-Varsity class, outscoring all varsity bands in their class. The EVPB Jazz Band won several awards at the Georgetown Jazz festival and this past concert season our concert band scored ratings of 1 across the board at UIL.
Along with the many successes of our bands, several of our individual students successfully competed in many of the district, region and state level competitions in the area. After all was said and done our band placed 6 UIL Region Band Finalists and 2 UIL State Band Finalists. One of our percussion students qualified for and performed in the UIL Texas State Band.
This past spring, many of our students participated in the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition and we are pleased to announce that 6 of our students rated a score of 1 as “Outstanding Soloists” and our Percussion Ensemble’s performance of “Katraterra” also scored a rating of 1 as an “Outstanding Ensemble.”
We are proud of all of our student musicians and very excited about the commitment each has made to our program. 2014-15 is shaping up to be an incredible year.
Vision
Statement
The mission of the East View Patriot Band is to establish a musical culture where student musicians can become strong, independent, responsible young adults who understand the value of working hard to achieve a unified goal.
A community is established through the collaboration with all Fine Arts programs at EVHS and in GISD, instilling within the students a life-long love of Music and the Arts. Our task as directors is to motivate and inspire the students to carry this passion into the Georgetown Community.
It is a priority of the music staff to build the individual stronger so the team has a solid foundation to grow upon. The East View Patriot Band measures every aspect of the program through excellence and class.
